Alpe d'Huez and Mont Ventoux

Alpe D'Huez

Two legends of The Tour de France in one unforgettable week

‘King of the Mountains’ and ‘Beside the Vines’ have combined to bring you an unforgettable cycling experience!

Our two-centre, week-long holidays will give you the unique opportunity to ride two of the most mythical climbs in Tour de France history; Alpe d'Huez and Mont Ventoux. Also the chance to experience two beautiful and varied regions of France; the Alps and Haute Provence.

The weeks are divided between two centres each ideally situated within in the two regions.
Airport transfers and midweek transfer between accommodation is provided.
At both locations breakfast, home cooked 3-course evening meals with wine, bed linen, towels and secure bike storage are provided – all you have to do is ride!

King of the Mountains’ are based at 'L'Ancienne Ecole', a former village school. Set in a small, rural hamlet in the central Alps, it is at the heart of some of the best known cycling in France. The accommodation is comfortably furnished for the needs of cyclists, each room having stunning mountain views.
Only 10km from the foot of Alpe d'Huez, it is easy to access the famous 21 hairpins that wind their way for 15km up the mountain. With just over 1,100 metres of climbing it is a true challenge, but one that is justly rewarded by some incredible views over the surrounding peaks.

Beside the Vines’ are based at Ferme la Garriguette, Rasteau, a typical Provencale farmhouse nestled amongst vineyards and at the heart of wine producing Cote du Rhone region. It has stunning grounds and gardens and offers a small gymnasium and the luxury of a 20m outdoor swimming pool – if you feel like it why not try the Vineman Triathlon before dinner ?
Mont Ventoux, 'The Giant of Provence' can be seen for miles rising majestically from the surrounding vineyards. The classic climb from Bedoin takes you past the Tom Simpson memorial and on to the impressive rock-strewn summit. The far-reaching views across Provence are simply breathtaking.
